Job summary

SMX is seeking a creative and technically skilled UX/UI Design Engineer to join our Solutions team. The successful candidate will design and build intuitive user experiences for our SMX federal planning and analytics products built on SAC, AWS and other platforms.

This remote role supports a Washington, DC based customer and requires a federal clearance. You will conduct user research, prototype, and front-end develop with SAC developers and subject matter experts.

Qualifications

5+ years designing and developing UI/UX for enterprise web applications, esp. financial planning tools.
Portfolio demonstrating both design work and front-end code.
Bachelor's degree in HCI/UX/CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
Ability to obtain Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship) and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Conduct user research and translate findings into UI requirements.
Create wireframes, mock-ups, and high-fidelity prototypes; maintain a design system.
Build front-end components using JavaScript, HTML, CSS for SAC analytics apps.
Design data-dense planning interfaces and ensure accessibility (Section 508).
Support customer demos, usability testing, and defect resolution during implementation.
