Job summary

SMX is seeking a creative UX/UI Design Engineer to design and build intuitive experiences for federal planning and analytics products built on SAC, AWS, and other platforms. You will perform user research, prototyping, and front-end development, collaborating with SAC developers and budget experts.

The role requires a Secret clearance, a related degree, and 5+ years of UI/UX design for enterprise apps. It is remote supporting a Washington, DC client with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and developing UI/UX for enterprise web apps
• Proficient in Figma with prototyping and design systems
• Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS for UI components
• Portfolio demonstrating design work and delivered front-end code
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-team collaboration
• Bachelor's degree in HCI/UX/CS or related field or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Conduct user research with customers and SMEs; translate findings into UI requirements
• Create wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes; maintain a reusable design system
• Build front-end components for SAC analytics apps and widgets using JavaScript/HTML/CSS
• Design data-dense planning interfaces like forms, grids, workflows, dashboards
• Ensure designs meet Section 508 and perform at enterprise data volumes
• Support demos, usability testing, and defect resolution during implementation
