Job summary

Second Nature is seeking a remote-first Design Leader to own the Resident Experience Platform: shaping the UX strategy, design system, and research practice. You will lead a 4–6 person design team across product domains, partnering with product, engineering, and customer success to deliver high-impact experiences.

You will continue hands-on design while mentoring designers, ensuring accessibility, and driving a culture of rapid, evidence-based decision making for our users—residents and property

Qualifications

• 8+ years in digital product UX
• 3+ years managing designers directly
• Experience with design systems at architecture level
• Hands-on with AI tooling in UX/content
• Executive communication with stakeholders
• Leadership in research practices
• Range across consumer and operator design
• Willingness to lead in a remote-first environment

Responsibilities

• Define a cohesive UX strategy and North Star for the Resident Experience Platform.
• Improve design culture through coaching, workshops, and design share-outs across the company.
• Lead team growth, hiring, and development, including leveling and compensation conversations.
• Own a design portfolio of strategic projects
• Oversee the Design System governance, tokens, patterns, and adoption metrics.
• Lead the Research Practice: cadence, residents and property managers usability testing.
• Shape Content Design and AI UX/Content operating model.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, customer success, and data leaders to drive outcomes.
