Job summary

Mission Underwriting Services is hiring an Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting process in a remote-first environment based in the United States. The role collaborates with Program Series Underwriters and brokers to ensure accurate policy processing and timely endorsements.

You will prepare policy files, verify required letters, and ensure compliance with SOPs while assisting in PAS testing and related projects. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years in insurance underwriting.
• 2+ years supporting commercial lines underwriters.
• Working knowledge of PDF, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Underwriters to quote, bind, and issue policies and endorsements.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with brokers.
• Prepare and review policy files and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Verify Broker of Record letters and other underwriting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and SOPs.
• Prepare policies for issuance using PAS.
• Lead or assist PAS testing and review initiatives with management.
• Participate in special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
