Job summary

ISHE is seeking an Underwriting Specialist to drive profitable growth by evaluating and underwriting new and renewal accounts. The role requires collaboration with producers to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions while managing capacity and governance compliance.

Preferred candidates have 3+ years of underwriting experience, with a focus on Commercial Packaged Property and Casualty. The position offers flexibility to sit remote or hybrid in MN, with market-facing duties including broker

Qualifications

• At least 3+ years of direct underwriting experience.
• Degree in Economics, Finance, Insurance Management, or Business Administration preferred.
• CPCU or similar qualification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet targets.
• Negotiate price and terms with producers.
• Ensure contract certainty at inception.
• Support policy administration and credit control processes.
• Coach and train less experienced staff including underwriters.
