CVS Health’s Meritain Health underwriting team seeks an underwriter to support pricing, stop loss and plan proposals. This fully remote role focuses on Mid-Market with diverse client interactions.

Ideal candidates bring 1–2 years in medical insurance, strong communication, and analytical skills, plus Excel and Salesforce experience. Strong collaboration and growth mindset are valued for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of applicable medical insurance experience (brokers, carriers, TPA, underwriting, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional problem solving and decision making.
• Demonstrated analytical skills.
• Adept at collaboration and teamwork.
• Growth mindset in skills development and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to Sales and Client Management on pricing and stop loss strategies.
• Prepare and issue quotations and other financial deliverables for prospects and existing business.
• Prepare financial projections using Excel and Salesforce.
• Market and place stop loss policies, negotiate terms based on data.
• Collaborate with leaders to understand impacts of custom requests.
• Manage and interpret operational data for fee development and financial analysis.
• Present to internal/external customers and partners.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of Meritain products and services.
• Create presentations for customers, partners and internal areas.
• Work with Sales to optimize product mix on proposals to reduce cost of care.
