Job summary

LanguageLine Solutions LLC is seeking a WFH bilingual Tzotzil-English phone interpreter. The role is an independent contractor position supporting LEP clients across healthcare, emergency, education and government sectors in the United States. Strong language skills and cultural competence are required.

Responsibilities include interpreting sessions, maintaining accuracy and a neutral stance, and following client protocols. Training and ongoing support are provided to ensure service quality.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Tzotzil and English with strong cultural awareness.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills.
• Ability to stay neutral and focused on calls.

Responsibilities

• Promptly respond to interpreting sessions in a friendly, professional manner.
• Render concepts accurately according to interpretation conventions.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and politeness.
• Maintain professionalism and calm during sessions, including emergencies.
• Follow client instructions and respect confidentiality and consent.
