LanguageLine Solutions LLC is hiring a Quichua-English telephone interpreter to work from home in the United States. This independent contractor role serves diverse clients across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, and more, translating verbally in real time.

The interpreter will maintain accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and professionalism, handling potentially sensitive topics and emergencies, while enjoying training and advancement opportunities within LanguageLine.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Quichua and English required.
• Must be at least 18 and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work from a quiet home-office environment.
• Remote, independent contractor role.

Responsibilities

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render correct concepts according to interpretation protocol.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation.
• Maintain a professional demeanor during sessions.
• Remain calm during emergencies (911) and high-stress calls.
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions per protocol to meet LEP needs.
• Understand protocol for Medical, Insurance, Finance, and Law.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment.
• Handle calls that may be emotional or stressful.
