CLOVEHITCH is seeking qualified interpreters fluent in Tzotzil to support a client serving minors. Interpreters will facilitate accurate communication between minors and Care Staff in person, with occasional phone or video support as needed.

The role is temporary, full-time, requires English and Tzotzil proficiency (ILR 2+), a valid driver’s license, and full work authorization in the U.S. Travel to client sites will be frequent.

Qualifications

• Must have working proficiency (ILR 2+) in English and the target language.
• May be required to obtain a T2, Public Trust clearance.
• Prior experience in foster care or medical care settings is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide in-person, onsite interpretation at client service sites
• Relay important deadlines, instructions, questions, and other communication from Support Care Staff to minors in their native or preferred language
• Assist minors in communicating concerns to staff when not fluent in English or the language spoken by Care Staff
• Provide translation/interpretation to orient minors to community resources
• Assist staff with building rapport and understanding the cultural context of the client populations
• Support special projects and initiatives
