Job summary

5V Video is a profitable, growing video technology company powering personalized, interactive video experiences across web, mobile, and connected TVs. We are hiring a remote TV app engineer to own frontend development for LG/Samsung platforms and contribute to SDK components.

You will implement pixel-perfect UI from Figma, optimize performance on constrained hardware, write tests, and collaborate with product and QA to ship features on time.

Qualifications

• Experience packaging, certification and deployment pipelines for TV app stores.
• Experience integrating apps with HTTP and WebSocket APIs (REST, JSON-RPC, gRPC).
• Knowledge of UI rendering optimization on constrained TV hardware.
• Familiarity with remote-control navigation paradigms and focus-based UI navigation.
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests (unit, integration, UI) for TV/BBD apps.
• Familiarity with React Native and its role in delivering shared web/mobile UI components.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging and performance alerting for connected TV applications.
• Strong communication and collaboration across engineering, product and design.

Responsibilities

• Architecting, developing and maintaining high-quality BBD applications for LG, Samsung and other connected TV platforms
• Owning the full development lifecycle from concept through store submission, certification and post-release support
• Implementing pixel-perfect UI from Figma designs, adapting for device-specific capabilities and constraints
• Building and extending SDK components tailored for BBD platforms
• Troubleshooting, debugging and optimising apps for smooth playback and responsive performance on constrained hardware
• Participating in on-call rotation and contributing to incident management
• Collaborating closely with product, design and QA teams to deliver features on time and to a high bar
