Job summary

Whatnot is seeking a Trust & Safety Agent to help identify risks, enforce policies, and protect buyers and sellers. You will investigate cases, respond to inquiries, and collaborate across teams to resolve issues while maintaining excellent customer service.

This role supports remote work with flexibility to work from home or Whatnot hubs; candidates must live within commuting distance of the Phoenix, AZ hub and be available on weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong communication skills with a clear and compassionate approach.
• Customer-first attitude and ownership mindset.
• Ability to multitask and learn new systems quickly.
• Team player mindset with a drive to improve processes.
• Internship or part-time experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or support is preferred.
• Exposure to support tools (e.g., Zendesk, Intercom) is a plus.
• Weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Review potentially suspicious behavior daily to protect users and prevent losses.
• Meet interdepartmental SLAs while maintaining high-quality work.
• Conduct in-depth transaction-level reviews.
• Identify trends and present opportunities for improved results.
• Communicate with customers regarding trust and risk inquiries.
• Provide inbound email and chat-based support for urgent needs.
• Investigate Trust & Risk cases with medium complexity and high sensitivity.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve open questions.
• Work through backlogs and monitor performance of key operations.
• Represent the company with integrity and professionalism.
• Review key metrics and leverage data for informed decisions.
