Job summary

Withum is seeking a Trust and Estate Tax Manager to lead all aspects of tax engagements, supervise staff, and build strong client relationships. Based in our Boston area or other office, you’ll work with seasoned CPAs and industry leaders to deliver accurate tax planning and compliance.

You will review returns, draft memoranda, identify planning opportunities, manage multiple engagements, and mentor team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• CPA license, JD or Masters of Science in Taxation required.
• At least 5 years of prior experience in a public accounting tax department.
• Excellent analytical and technical tax skills.
• Exceptional client service and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills.
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review individual, trust, partnership and corporate tax returns for accuracy.
• Research and draft memoranda on complex tax matters.
• Identify and implement tax planning opportunities.
• Handle and resolve tax controversies.
• Oversee tax research projects for diverse clients and industries.
• Manage multiple engagements with different teams to meet deadlines.
• Provide guidance and feedback during staff evaluations.
