Job summary

Withum's Trust and Estate Tax Manager position offers a lead role overseeing tax engagements, mentoring staff, and building client relationships from any office location. You will review returns across trust and individual tax, and coordinate a multidiscipline team to ensure accurate, timely tax reporting.

The ideal candidate has a CPA or JD/MS in Taxation, at least five years in public accounting, and demonstrated leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
CPA license, JD or MS in Taxation required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a public accounting tax department with leadership experience.
Excellent analytical and technical tax skills.
Exceptional client service and communication skills.
Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

Reviewing individual, trust, partnership, and corporate tax returns for accuracy.
Researching and drafting memoranda on complex tax matters.
Identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities.
Handling and resolving tax controversies.
Overseeing tax research projects for diverse clients.
Managing multiple engagements with various teams to meet deadlines.
Providing leadership and mentoring to staff.
Serving as an instructor or discussion leader in training programs.
