Job summary

nVent is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to lead on-site coordination for large-scale engineered bus duct system installations across North America, with up to 75% overnight travel. Projects require extended stays at customer sites and occasional multi-week engagements.

You will oversee schedules, safety compliance, subcontractor coordination, and client communication while supporting outage, rebuild, and maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years leading or coordinating field-based project activities at customer sites (construction, installation, outage, commissioning, maintenance).
• Experience supporting project execution at client locations, including schedule coordination and customer communication.
• Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills for fast-paced field environments.
• Ability to read construction drawings and project documentation.
• Solid OSHA safety knowledge and timekeeping/process familiarity.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling/tracking tools.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 75% across the country; extended stays at customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site representative for large-scale bus duct system installations and field service projects across North America.
• Coordinate daily project activities with customers, subcontractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Lead project site coordination meetings and communicate schedules, risks, and issues.
• Monitor schedules, workforce needs, equipment availability, and material readiness.
• Review drawings and project docs to support delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Make field decisions balancing safety, schedule, and costs.
• Complete daily reports, timekeeping, and status updates; maintain records.
• Promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement at all sites.
