Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems seeks an experienced Traveling Security Systems Engineer to lead Electronic Security projects nationwide from a remote/virtual base with up to 75% travel. You will coordinate installation, programming, and commissioning for DoD and other federal sites across the United States.

The role requires strong communication skills, field leadership, and the ability to manage subcontractors, budgets, and documentation while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field experience in commercial/industrial Electronic Security.
• Hands-on experience with system design, commissioning or programming.
• Ability to explain technical material to nontechnical audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows environments.
• Ability to obtain government security clearances as needed.

Responsibilities

• Act as on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete Electronic Security projects.
• Perform system programming, integration, installation coordination, and commissioning.
• Develop project plans and coordinate resources for timely installations.
• Provide direction to subcontractors, installers, technicians, designers, and staff.
• Complete hardware/software installations and verify system functionality.
• Maintain as-built and commissioning documentation; mentor junior staff.
