Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems is seeking a seasoned Traveling Security Systems Engineer to support DoD and other federal facilities across the United States. The role is remote/virtual with extensive travel (up to 75%), based in Huntsville, AL or DC metro area preferred.

Base pay ranges from $85,000 to $105,000 with a 10% bonus and company-paid travel expenses. Responsibilities include leading on-site security projects, coordinating installation and commissioning, and mentoring technicians

Qualifications

• 5+ years field experience in commercial/industrial Electronic Security.
• Hands-on design, commissioning or programming of security systems.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows.
• Ability to obtain/maintain government security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Act as on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete security projects.
• Perform or delegate tasks for system design, installation coordination, and commissioning.
• Develop project plans and coordinate resources for timely completion.
• Provide direction to subcontractors, installers, technicians and designers.
• Complete installation of hardware and software per standards.
• Manage loading, verification, and commissioning of system controllers.
• Provide as-built documentation and commissioning reports.
• Coach and mentor junior staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security and regulatory codes.
