Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems seeks an experienced Electronic Security Systems Field Engineer for a remote role with up to 75% travel across the United States. You will lead on-site projects for DoD and other federal sites, coordinating hardware/software installation, commissioning, and training.

The role requires 5+ years in the field, ability to convey technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders, and readiness to obtain government security clearances.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field experience in commercial/industrial Electronic Security
• Ability to communicate technical material to nontechnical audience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Windows environment
• Ability to obtain government security clearances as needed

Responsibilities

• Act as on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete Electronic Security projects with customers
• Perform or delegate tasks including programming, integration, installation coordination, system/network commissioning and closeout
• Develop project plans and coordinate resources for timely, cost-effective installation
• Provide work direction to subcontractors, installers, technicians, designers, and admin staff
• Complete installation of hardware design and software programming using established standards
• Manage loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers; ensure full functionality and proper operation
• Provide coaching and technical assistance to team members
• Ensure compliance with safety, state/local/federal requirements
• Assist with material procurement and delivery scheduling
• Communicate project status and assist with forecasts of revenue and costs
• Conduct site-specific training for owners/operators and provide documentation
