Job summary

SMA America is seeking a Transportation Coordinator for a 6-month remote assignment. You will support the Transportation Analysts and Manager by entering and tracking shipments, coordinating large-scale projects, and maintaining accurate records across North America. Availability during core business hours is required.

The role emphasizes coordinating freight, carriers, and shipment tracking with a focus on timely delivery and strong communication with customers and partners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a coordination or administrative role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook).
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication with a customer service focus.
• Residence within the continental United States with consistent core hours.

Responsibilities

• Enter shipments into the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Track and trace shipments and resolve issues in transit.
• Coordinate Large Scale project shipments from import to site delivery.
• Support complex shipments and projects as assigned by the Transportation team.
• Maintain accurate records of items transported between locations.
• Report on delivery timelines and delays.
• Liaise between customers and carriers to keep shipments on schedule.
• Assist in maintaining the TMS (rates and transit times).
• Support customs-related activities as needed.
• Perform other duties within the scope of the assignment.
