Job summary

SMA America is seeking a Transportation Coordinator for a 6-month remote assignment supporting its Transportation team across North America. This role involves entering shipments, tracking progress, coordinating imports and deliveries, and serving as a key liaison with carriers and customers.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in a coordination role, strong Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years in a coordination/administrative role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook).
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication with a customer-service focus.
• Residence within the continental United States with consistent core-hours availability.

Responsibilities

• Enter shipments into the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Track and trace shipments in transit and resolve issues.
• Coordinate Large Scale project shipments from import through delivery to site.
• Support complex shipments and projects as assigned by the Transportation team.
• Maintain accurate records of items transported between locations.
• Provide delivery timeline updates and flag delays.
• Liaise between customers and carriers to keep shipments on schedule.
• Support TMS maintenance (rates, transit times).
• Assist with customs activities as needed.
• Perform other duties within the scope of the assignment.
