Job summary

Utz Quality Foods, LLC is seeking a Transportation Operations Manager located within 2 to 3 hours from Hanover, PA, with remote options. You will oversee the entire transportation process, plan shipments, manage carrier relationships, and ensure compliance with customer requirements.

The role focuses on developing strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality through hands-on leadership, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement across the transportation team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement transportation strategies for timely, cost-effective delivery.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to streamline shipping processes.
• Plan shipments based on production schedules, orders, and inventory.
• Build and maintain relationships with carriers and logistics providers.
• Monitor vendor performance for quality and compliance.
• Oversee daily transportation operations ensuring safety and regulatory adherence.
• Manage transportation budgets to reduce costs while maintaining service quality.
• Implement KPIs to track and improve efficiency.
• Address delays, damages, and discrepancies promptly.
• Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions.
• Lead and mentor transportation coordinators and staff.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance work environment.
• Provide training to enhance team skills and knowledge.
• Leverage TMS and other tech to optimize routing and tracking.
• Identify process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
• Stay updated on industry trends to stay competitive.
