About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking logistics and supply chain management company, is seeking a highly analytical and proactive Remote Transport Planner & Route Optimizer to join their team. This is a crucial fully remote position that involves leveraging advanced software and data analysis to design the most efficient and cost-effective transportation routes for their extensive network. You will play a key role in enhancing delivery performance, reducing operational expenses, and improving customer satisfaction across various regions, including those supporting Randburg, Gauteng, ZA. The ideal candidate possesses a strong aptitude for mathematical modeling, spatial analysis, and logistics optimization, coupled with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with remote teams and stakeholders. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency and profitability of our client's transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize sophisticated route optimization software to plan and schedule daily deliveries for a large fleet.
• Analyze transportation data, including traffic patterns, delivery times, fuel costs, and vehicle capacity, to identify optimal routes.
• Develop strategies to minimize mileage, reduce fuel consumption, and decrease delivery times.
• Collaborate with dispatch teams and fleet managers to implement and adjust route plans based on real-time conditions and operational needs.
• Prepare detailed reports on route efficiency, cost savings, and performance metrics for management review.
• Identify potential challenges and risks associated with proposed routes and develop contingency plans.
• Stay informed about advancements in route optimization technology and logistics software.

Requirements

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing logistical challenges.
