About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding e-commerce logistics provider, is seeking a highly analytical and technically proficient Remote Logistics Data Analyst to join their global operations team. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to work from anywhere in South Africa, contributing to the optimization of supply chain performance and operational efficiency through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in data extraction, transformation, analysis, and visualization, with a proven ability to identify trends, uncover insights, and communicate complex findings clearly. You will be instrumental in shaping strategic decisions by providing actionable intelligence on various aspects of our logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and last-mile delivery. This role requires a proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in an independent, remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from various logistics sources (e.g., WMS, TMS, carrier data).
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key logistics KPIs (e.g., on-time delivery, cost per mile, inventory turns).
• Identify operational inefficiencies and propose data-backed solutions for improvement.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and IT teams to understand data needs and provide analytical support.
• Perform trend analysis, forecasting, and predictive modeling related to logistics performance.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through presentations and written reports.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in logistics analytics.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all reporting and analytical outputs.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of data collection and reporting tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Logistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of experience in data analysis, with a focus on logistics or supply chain operations.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
