Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team working on electric transmission design for large utilities. The role involves high-voltage overhead and underground systems, applying standards like NESC and ASCE, and producing plans, specifications, and procurement documents.

Ideal candidates will focus on independent execution of tasks using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE, with collaboration across PMs, environmental and construction teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil, preferred, or Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems.
• Experience using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and also independently.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication abilities across client and project teams.
• Occasional travel to client sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical design and engineering tasks related to high-voltage transmission lines, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and calculations under guidance of Lead Engineers or PMs.
• Perform engineering analyses, including PLS-CADD modeling and structure loading calculations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by learning new technical tools and automation platforms.
• Coordinate project progress with the Project Manager to ensure schedule and budget adherence.
