Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced field service professional to provide hands-on support for power transformers in a Houston, TX environment. You will install, commission, maintain, repair, upgrade, and retire transformer equipment while interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and following technical manuals.

You will travel up to 85% and work outdoors, reading drawings, coordinating logistics, and ensuring safety and compliance with internal and external guidelines.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of transformer field service operations and transformer field testing.
• Familiarity with transformer installation and assembly, vacuum and oil processing, and internal transformer components.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel up to 85%.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site service activities including installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and replacements.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, manuals and instructions.
• Coordinate logistics for service jobs, including tools, resources and spare parts.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and support customer operations.
• Maintain logs for oil processing and transformer-related activities.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.
• Collaborate with service colleagues and customers to improve operations and service quality.
