Job summary

GHY International seeks an experienced Trade Consultant and Licensed Customs Broker to guide clients through tariff classification, valuation, origin, and FTAs. Reporting to the US Trade Services Director, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and colleagues, translating complex rules into practical guidance.

This remote role requires a US Customs Broker license, 10+ years in the customs field, and the ability to travel to Pembina, ND for training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the customs industry
• U.S. Customs Broker License is required
• CCS designation is preferred
• Ability to advise clients on complex trade challenges and regulatory requirements
• Strong knowledge of tariff classification, valuation, origin, and CBP processes

Responsibilities

• Advise and consult on tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, free trade agreement qualification, and other complex customs matters
• Draft CBP Binding Ruling Requests and support verifications, post-entry corrections, and coordination with CBP and Partner Government Agencies
• Identify compliance exposure, refund opportunities, and areas for improvement by evaluating client activity
• Investigate supplemental duty bills, penalties, classification questions, and translate findings into practical recommendations
• Compile customs documentation, coordinate post-entry filings, and monitor refunds and entry status
• Help develop scopes of work, trade-related presentations, and client-specific recommendations
• Share expertise with colleagues and contribute to process improvements and business development initiatives
