Job summary

GHY is seeking an experienced Trade Consultant to support US trade services, advising clients on tariff classification, origin determinations, and compliance with US Customs regulations. You will draft binding rulings and coordinate with CBP and partner agencies.

You will also prepare work scopes, identify client risks, and assist in duty drawback efforts while maintaining thorough documentation and reporting for ongoing trade operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the customs industry.
• CCS designation is required for consideration.
• U.S. Customs Broker License is preferred but not mandatory.
• Remote work possible with travel to Pembina, ND for training.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on tariff classification, valuation, origin, and FTAs and draft CBP Binding Ruling Requests.
• Support compliance activities including verifications, post-entry corrections, and coordination with CBP and PGAs.
• Prepare scope of work proposals, assess client risks and refund opportunities, and assist with duty drawback coordination.
• Compile customs documentation, manage post-entry filings, and maintain logs for refunds and CBP requests.
• Research and resolve supplemental duty bills and penalties; generate reports for trade operations.
• Contribute to business development by creating trade-related presentation content and supporting process improvements.
