Job summary

Cutting Edge Modular Inc. seeks a 1099 contractor to generate precise 2D shop drawings for timber components and framing layouts. You will detail connections using Simpson hardware and wood-to-wood joinery, ensuring alignment with structural calculations and building codes.

You will coordinate with foundations, MEP, and steel elements to prevent on-site clashes, and verify wood grades, species, moisture, and hardware tolerances per plans and codes. Flexible work-from-home options are available.

Qualifications

• Understanding of heavy timber framing, mass timber (LVT/Glulam), and wood truss systems.
• Proficiency with timber/BIM software.
• Ability to read architectural and structural blueprints and apply wood engineering standards such as NDS and IBC.

Responsibilities

• Generate highly accurate 2D shop drawings for structural timber components and framing layouts.
• Detail structural wood connections, including Simpson hardware and wood-to-wood joints.
• Coordinate with foundations, MEP systems, and structural steel to avoid on-site conflicts.
• Verify wood grades, species specs, moisture requirements, and hardware tolerances per plans and codes.
