Job summary

Force99 Technologies is seeking a Timber Frame Designer/Detailer to transform customer concepts into fabrication-ready drawing sets. You will work in AutoCAD and Cadwork—with Revit, SketchUp, and related tools—to create clean 2D/3D models and generate takeoffs that support sales and estimation.

You'll collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors and internal teams to align scope, production scheduling, resources and budgets, while adhering to building codes and company standards through

Job description

As a Timber Frame Designer/Detailer - CAD, you'll convert big customer ideas into fabrication-ready drawing sets that let every timber frame take shape. Working in AutoCAD and Cadwork - alongside Revit, SketchUp, and related tools-you'll develop clean 2D/3D models, generate takeoffs/cut information that supports sales and estimation, and keep drawing standards, file organization, naming conventions, and revision control tight from concept through release.

You'll partner with architects, engineers, contractors, customers, and internal teams to align scope, production scheduling, resources, and budgets. You're comfortable with the engineering process and the permitting process, apply basic architectural principles, and work confidently with building codes, regulations, standards, and the International Building Code-delivering revisions quickly while meeting internal KPIs and company expectations. Your detailing depends on solid drafting/design techniques, construction and manufacturing know-how, and a clear understanding of building components, digital fabrication processes, and connection design across post-and-beam and heavy timber systems.

Required Skills/qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Cadwork; build Revit families, correlate attributes/parameters, and import/export file types
• Project management skills to coordinate multiple design projects and communicate the Project Designer process across departments
• Excellent, proactive communication (including difficult/adaptive conversations) that drives win-win solutions
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• Microsoft Office 365 proficiency and effective presentation skills to employees and external stakeholders
• Preferred: Tekla, Hsbcad, Lumion, D5, Enscape, Dynamo, Rhino, Grasshopper
