Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Test Technician to support engineering and production by setting up, operating, and maintaining electronic and mechanical test equipment. You will work hands-on with circuits and assemblies, perform measurements, troubleshoot, and document results to ensure products meet standards.

The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and collaboration with engineers to improve testing methods. This is a contract position in Sherman, IL, with a focus on reliability and quality in a lab

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with electronic and mechanical test systems in a lab or production setting.
• Proficiency using oscilloscopes to measure and analyze electrical signals.
• Ability to operate diverse electronic test equipment (multimeters, power supplies, function generators).
• Soldering skills for assembling, modifying, and repairing electronic circuits and components.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles related to electronics and mechanics.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions, procedures and diagrams.
• Strong attention to detail and good troubleshooting in a technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor electronic and mechanical test equipment to evaluate product performance.
• Use oscilloscopes and diagnostic instruments to measure signals and parameters.
• Perform soldering on components for test setup, rework, and repairs.
• Assist in testing systems according to procedures and engineering instructions.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and identify faults in circuits and assemblies.
• Document test procedures, results, and observations clearly for review by engineering and quality teams.
• Maintain test equipment and workstations with proper calibration and safe operation.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve test methods and resolve issues identified during testing.
• Follow safety, quality, and process guidelines while handling components.
