Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an experienced Temporary Payroll Manager to oversee end-to-end payroll for 500+ employees. The role covers multi-state registrations, audits, year-end activities, and a hands-on transition from UKG to Rippling.

You will collaborate with Finance to finalize remittances during a sensitive closure. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of payroll experience, strong UKG Pro knowledge, and advanced Excel skills, with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality in a dynamic

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of progressive payroll experience, including end-to-end processing for 500+ employees.
• Experience processing payroll in UKG, preferably UKG Pro.
• Strong knowledge of state and local payroll tax registrations, filings, reconciliations, and compliance.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including state-specific final-pay requirements.
• Ability to reconcile payroll registers, tax filings, payments, and general ledger entries.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables for audits and reconciliations.
• Discretion and confidentiality handling of sensitive payroll data.
• Independent ownership of payroll operations from day one, meeting fixed deadlines.
• Adaptability to system changes and collaboration with Finance and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for 500+ employees in UKG, from data collection to funding.
• Maintain accurate payroll records for hires, terminations, changes, bonuses, and deductions.
• Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with audits, variance analysis, and final pay checks.
• Provide prompt, accurate payroll support to employees and managers while protecting sensitive data.
• Oversee payroll tax registrations, reconciliations, and agency communications; resolve notices and discrepancies.
• Support year-end activities: W-2 preparation and review.
• Contribute to payroll system transition to Rippling: data gathering, migration, validation, mapping, and testing.
• Test and document new processes; compare Rippling outputs to UKG and maintain cross-system registrations.
• Support closure of former entity: coordinate multi-state tax account closures and final filings.
