Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a client to hire a Remote Telecoms Support Specialist to join a fully remote team serving Welkom and beyond.

You will provide first-line technical support for voice, data and internet services, diagnose issues, escalate where needed, and document every interaction in our ticketing system. This role offers flexible hours, training and advancement opportunities, a home-office equipment stipend, health benefits, and the freedom to work from anywhere in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Experience in a technical support role, preferably within telecoms.
• Understanding of internet connectivity issues and home networking equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
• Clear written and verbal communication; able to explain tech concepts clearly.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support to customers experiencing issues with voice, data, and internet services.
• Diagnose and resolve common telecommunications problems, including modem, router, and connectivity issues.
• Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level support teams or specialized departments.
• Accurately document all customer interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the support ticketing system.
• Assist with user account management and basic network configuration tasks.
• Contribute to the knowledge base by creating and updating support articles and FAQs.
