Placements24 is seeking a visionary Remote Telecommunications Network Architect to lead the design of next-generation network infrastructure. This fully remote role offers flexibility and strategic impact in a globally distributed team.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in telecom network design, strong leadership, and deep expertise in IP routing, MPLS, SDN, NFV, and cloud networking. Advanced degree preferred, PhD a plus, with experience across fiber, wireless, and satellite technologies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field; PhD is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years in telecommunications network design, engineering, and architecture.
• Extensive knowledge of IP networking, BGP/OSPF, MPLS, SDN, NFV, and cloud networking.
• Experience with fiber optics, wireless (4G/5G), and satellite communications.
• Proven ability to design and implement large-scale, complex networks.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary and highly experienced Remote Telecommunications Network Architect to lead the design and strategic development of their next-generation network infrastructure. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to shape the future of telecommunications from anywhere. You will be responsible for creating robust, scalable, and efficient network architectures that support evolving business needs and technological advancements. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in a wide range of network technologies, a proven ability to design complex systems, and strong leadership qualities. Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect end-to-end telecommunications network solutions, including core, edge, and access layers.
• Develop technical roadmaps and strategies for network evolution and technology adoption.
• Evaluate and select appropriate hardware, software, and protocols to meet network requirements.
• Ensure network designs are scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-effective.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product development teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Create detailed architectural documentation, including diagrams, specifications, and best practices.
• Lead technical reviews and provide guidance to network engineers and designers.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in telecommunications networking.
• Identify opportunities for network optimization and performance improvement.
• Develop and document standards and guidelines for network implementation and operations.

Requirements
