Job summary

Animal Legal Defense Fund seeks a Technology Director to lead the Technology Department in a fully remote setting. You will set strategic direction, own cybersecurity, govern AI tool usage, and manage the Salesforce platform and its multi-year implementation.

You will supervise the Technology Manager and Database Administrator, build the technology roadmap, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient operations for 80+ remote staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, IGP, CIPP, or CIP preferred.
• 7+ years in technology with knowledge of information management and protection laws, regulations, and best practices.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience building technology teams.
• Experience with Salesforce and AI governance in a non-profit/legal context.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements technology strategies, policies, processes, and procedures to support ALDF’s operations and objectives.
• Directly supervises the Technology Manager and Database Administrator and sets performance goals.
• Oversees Salesforce platform strategy, security, and multi-year implementation.
• Manages department budget and cross-department/vendor relationships.
• Ensures cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance across systems.
