Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Technical Writer for a fully remote, 18-month contract-to-hire engagement. You will produce clear, compliant documentation for backend systems and mobile applications, collaborating with technical teams to define requirements and content.

The role emphasizes QMS compliance, process standardization, and audience-oriented writing. The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of technical writing experience, familiarity with regulated environments, and strong skills in SDLC/Agile

Qualifications

• 3 to 5+ years of experience producing, editing, and proofreading technical software documentation.
• Experience in regulated environments and for internal/external audits.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear text and visuals for diverse audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe tools (Acrobat, FrameMaker, Illustrator).
• Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

Responsibilities

• Partner with technical implementation teams to define documentation needs and deliver clear, accurate technical content.
• Create, edit, and maintain documentation for backend components, back-end systems, and mobile applications (architecture, design, product requirements, data solutions).
• Prepare and submit documents for Quality Management System compliance in a regulated environment.
• Standardize and simplify technical writing processes, procedures, and style guidelines.
• Improve documentation development lifecycle practices to enable efficient delivery of quality content.
• Assess audience needs and adjust tone and terminology for clarity and comprehension.
• Conduct document reviews, gather stakeholder input, and ensure technical accuracy.
• Create data flow diagrams, component diagrams, and related technical illustrations.
• Author and manage documentation using GitHub-based workflows.
