Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Writer to support the VA Health Technology Management Services contract. You will manage artifacts for senior leadership and QA documents during EHR transitions, with fully remote work across the United States and core hours 8 am–5 pm ET.

You will craft clear narratives, maintain editorial standards, collaborate with SMEs, and produce ad hoc materials for VA leadership, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced federal environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Research or related fields with 5+ years of experience (or commensurate experience).
• 3-5 years of relevant experience with certifications in relevant UX software or 5 to 7 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education
• Experience within Enterprise VA projects or other federal agencies
• Advanced proficiency in core Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience operating in an agile environment

Responsibilities

• Writes, rewrites and edits technical documentation and team communications with graphic design as needed.
• Translates complicated issues into a clear narrative for senior leadership.
• Applies editorial styles and standards across documentation.
• Develops artifacts for executive VA leadership and other audiences.
• Creates documentation for new processes/procedures through each fiscal year.
• Collaborates with SMEs to develop comprehensive deliverables.
• Maintains knowledge through daily team activities and support.
• Reviews content for quality and formatting.
• Supports communications plan updates with project manager.
• Drafts accurate meeting minutes with short turnaround times.
• Supports continuous improvement by refining artifacts for site EHR transitions.
