Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Writer to support the VA Health Technology Management Services contract. This role manages artifacts for senior leadership, ensuring QA of documents during EHR transitions.

The position is fully remote within the United States, with core hours 8 am–5 pm ET, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, strong Microsoft Office and Adobe skills, and agility in fast-paced federal programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Research or related fields with 5+ years of experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience with certifications in relevant UX software or 5 to 7 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
• Experience within Enterprise VA projects or other federal agencies.
• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience operating in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Write, rewrite and edit technical documentation and team communications with graphic design as needed.
• Translate complex issues into a clear narrative for senior leadership and VA stakeholders.
• Apply editorial styles and standards consistently across documentation.
• Develop ad hoc artifacts for executive VA leadership and other audiences.
• Draft accurate meeting minutes with short turnaround times.
• Collaborate with SMEs to produce comprehensive deliverables.
• Review content quality and formatting of technical documentation.
• Support communications plans with project management and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support EHR transition documentation across VA sites.
