Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Writer to support the VA Health Technology Management Services contract. The role focuses on managing artifacts for senior leadership, ensuring QA of documents for VAMC personnel during EHR transitions, with full remote work across the United States and standard hours 8am-5pm ET.

The writer will produce clear, concise narratives from multiple sources, apply editorial standards, and collaborate with SMEs to deliver comprehensive deliverables across fiscal years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Research or related fields with 5+ years of experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience with certifications in UX software (or 5-7 years may substitute for education)
• Experience within Enterprise VA projects or other federal agencies
• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience operating in an agile environment

Responsibilities

• Writes, rewrites and edits technical documentation and team communications with graphic design as needed.
• Translates complex issues into clear narratives for senior leadership.
• Applies editorial standards consistently across documentation.
• Develops ad hoc artifacts for audiences including executive VA leadership.
• Creates documentation based on newly identified processes/procedures.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop deliverables.
• Reviews content quality and formatting of technical docs.
• Maintains and improves team communications plans with project manager.
