Job summary

GovCIO is actively seeking a remote Technical Trainer to design, deliver, and continually improve high-quality training programs focused on operational workflows, systems, software, and hardware across government IT environments.

The role emphasizes translating complex concepts into accessible content, delivering to diverse audiences, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure training aligns with evolving capabilities and program goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Training, Communications, Technical Writing, Information Technology, or related field with 5+ years of experience.
• 2+ years developing training content, technical documentation, or knowledge materials.
• Experience delivering classroom, virtual, or webinar-based training to diverse audiences.
• Experience supporting operational/technical/government environments preferred.
• Strong project management skills in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent written and oral communication for diverse audiences.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly content.
• Ability to communicate both technically and in user-friendly language.
• Consistently meet or exceed performance objectives.
• Calm under pressure and able to handle escalations and customer expectations.
• Team player with reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update instructor-led and virtual training, KBs, SOPs, and other learning resources.
• Deliver engaging training sessions to technical and non-technical audiences using multiple formats.
• Translate complex concepts into clear, concise content.
• Collaborate with program management, operations, product managers, technicians, engineers, and training teams.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements to boost engagement and retention.
• Keep training materials current with system enhancements and process changes.
• Support new tech implementations, system releases, and operational initiatives through training content development.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and contribute to workforce readiness and mission success.
