Job summary

COMPA Industries seeks a Technical Writer to support Nuclear Safety Basis Documentation for LANL. Working mostly remotely, you will edit, format, and quality-check DSAs, TSRs, and safety analyses, with occasional on-site work in Los Alamos or Santa Fe, NM.

DOE Q clearance eligibility is required. You will collaborate with engineers and nuclear safety analysts to ensure documents meet DOE orders and site requirements, maintaining version control and coordinating with authors to resolve comments

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in English, journalism, technical communication, or a physical or social science, and 6–8 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Edit, format, and quality-check Safety Basis documents, including DSAs, TSRs, Hazard Analyses and related calculations.
• Ensure documents comply with DOE orders, standards, and site requirements.
• Improve clarity and consistency without altering technical intent.
• Apply document standards, templates, and configuration management.
• Edit and coordinate redline documents with authors, engineers, and analysts.
• Support internal reviews, audits, and readiness activities.
• Track revisions and maintain version control.
