Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to translate complex business needs into clear requirements and technology-enabled solutions within its Digital Engineering team. You will work with stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams to improve processes and deliver high-value enterprise applications.

Remote role with flexibility; qualified candidates located in Meza, AZ, El Dorado Hills, CA, or anywhere in the United States are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 6+ professional experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst in an enterprise technology environment.
• Demonstrated ability to gather requirements and create user stories, acceptance criteria, process models, and functional documentation.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum delivery practices and requirement-management tools such as Jira.
• Working knowledge of data analysis using Microsoft Excel and SQL, with exposure to Tableau or Power BI.
• Familiarity with enterprise application environments involving Java, Spring Boot, .NET Core, or related technologies.
• Strong analytical, root-cause analysis, problem-solving, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and prioritize business and functional requirements.
• Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specifications, and traceable delivery documentation.
• Facilitate discovery sessions and Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Analyze data and operational workflows using Excel, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Java, Spring Boot, .NET Core, QA, and delivery teams to clarify requirements and support implementation.
• Support user acceptance testing, defect resolution, release readiness, training, and stakeholder communications.
• Track decisions, risks, dependencies, and action items in Jira while helping teams deliver outcomes and timelines.
