Job summary

Finance in a Box is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join us in a fully remote role. You will apply deep US GAAP expertise, oversee SEC reporting, and drive technical accounting research, memos, and policy writing for clients worldwide.

Responsibilities include updating revenue recognition policies, coordinating with external auditors and SOX activities, and supporting IPO readiness. You will also mentor junior staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of relevant technical accounting experience.
• Expert-level knowledge of US GAAP.
• Hands-on SEC reporting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of SEC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Experience with stock-based compensation, convertible debt, and other equity-related transactions.
• Experience with SaaS-related customer contract analysis for ASC 606.
• Assist in technical accounting research, memo and accounting policy writing, and reviewing and analyzing complex accounting transactions.
• Collaborate with other groups and departments to assess the reporting implications of changes in US GAAP, ensure compliance with new and amended standards/interpretations, coordinate changes, and ensure availability of requisite information for financial reporting.
• Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations, including newly issued accounting pronouncements.
• Continuously update revenue recognition policies and memos to reflect updates in guidance or changes to business processes.
• Oversee the accuracy of the company's external financial reports, including 10-K and 10-Q filings and other SEC filings.
• Support SEC reporting and IPO readiness initiatives, including technical accounting research and accounting policy documentation.
• Support SOX compliance efforts and coordinate with external auditors on audit requests and technical accounting matters.
• Own accounting standard adoption and implementation of new accounting standards while supporting the company's long-term technical accounting strategy.
• Assist in resolving internal technical accounting issues and support other projects as necessary.
