Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Procurement Category Manager to lead technology-related categories, drive supplier negotiations, and develop strategies that reduce total cost of ownership while improving quality and service. The role supports Corporate Technology and Workspace Solutions, with emphasis on SAAS licenses, offshore outsourcing, and related services.

The position follows a SuccessFlex model with three remote workdays and two in-office days weekly, requiring on-site

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in supply chain, procurement, business, finance, accounting, MIS, economics or related fields preferred.
• Typically eight or more years of experience in all aspects of supply chain management including relationship management.
• Specialized knowledge of procurement principles, contracting, cost reduction strategies and category management.

Responsibilities

• Develop category strategies to maximize value and cost savings.
• Create and implement communication plans for contracting events and categories.
• Develop leverage and cost-reduction strategies for annual savings targets.
• Monitor KPIs to improve supplier performance and category outcomes.
• Mentor and train associates on procurement policy and sourcing skills.
• Lead or participate in moderately complex competitive bid activities (RFP/RFQ/RFI).
• Negotiate contract terms, conditions, and SLAs, and document savings for Finance approval.
