Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Tax Manager to join a small, innovative CPA firm. This 100% remote role supports over 500 clients in tax and accounting, reporting to the Owner, with occasional Pennsylvania office visits.

The ideal candidate has a strong public accounting background, leads tax planning for individuals and entities, and enjoys mentoring junior staff. Responsibilities include overseeing federal/state returns, researching tax issues, and advising clients on tax strategy while ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation and planning (1120S, S Corp, high net worth).
• Extensive knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
• Experience in tax planning and strategy development for corporations and individuals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret tax laws.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex concepts.
• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with high motivation.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage federal/state income tax returns for individuals, corporations, and S corporations.
• Lead tax planning and strategy development to optimize tax obligations and ensure compliance.
• Conduct complex tax research and provide planning advice to clients.
• Assist in management and maintenance of the tax structure.
• Prepare and review 1120S returns and provide guidance on implications.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide tax accounting support.
• Stay updated with tax laws and ensure policy compliance.
• Manage tax audits and inquiries and assist during litigation.
• Develop and implement tax-saving strategies for the firm and clients.
• Provide leadership, training, and supervision to junior staff.
