Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Tax Manager for a fully remote role. The position involves managing engagements end-to-end, reviewing complex returns, mentoring staff, and building trusted client relationships within a boutique public accounting environment.

The ideal candidate has strong public accounting tax experience and is comfortable collaborating with partners. Hybrid flexibility is available, with remote arrangements considered based on location.

Qualifications

• CPA license required.
• U.S.-based accounting education.
• Strong public accounting tax experience.
• Broad tax experience in small to mid-sized CPA firms preferred.
• Experience reviewing federal and state tax returns.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
• Strong client-facing communication and relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of tax engagements and client relationships.
• Review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, estates, and other entities.
• Review work prepared by senior accountants and tax staff for accuracy and technical quality.
• Provide guidance on complex tax compliance and planning matters.
• Research federal and state tax issues and communicate recommendations to clients and firm leadership.
• Work directly with clients to understand their businesses and evolving tax needs.
• Manage engagement workflow, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Mentor, train, and develop less-experienced tax professionals.
• Collaborate closely with partners on client matters and firm initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve tax strategies, processes, and overall client service.
