Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our growing public accounting practice. This fully remote role focuses on managing diverse tax engagements, reviewing complex returns, mentoring staff, and building trusted client relationships.

The ideal candidate has strong public accounting tax experience and a CPA license, with capability across individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and estates.

Qualifications

• CPA license required.
• U.S.-based accounting or related education.
• Extensive public accounting tax experience.
• Experience reviewing federal and state returns across entities.
• Strong client-facing communication and relationship-management skills.
• Mentoring and developing junior staff.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
• QuickBooks and Lacerte experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of tax engagements and client relationships.
• Review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, estates, and other entities.
• Review work prepared by senior accountants and tax staff for accuracy and technical quality.
• Provide guidance on complex tax compliance and planning matters.
• Research federal and state tax issues and communicate recommendations to clients and firm leadership.
• Work directly with clients to understand their businesses and evolving tax needs.
• Manage engagement workflow, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Mentor, train, and develop less-experienced tax professionals.
• Collaborate closely with partners on client matters and firm initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve tax strategies, processes, and overall client service.
