Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a part-time Tax Associate for 100% remote work in the United States. You will assist customers with tax preparation, filing, and questions across phone, video, and chat channels, serving as a trusted advisor to ensure accurate tax outcomes and strong customer experiences.

Requirements include 2+ years of paid tax prep, 30+ 1040s prepared, and an active PTIN. Pay ranges from $22–$27 per hour on W2, with peak-season hours (April 10–15) required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of paid Tax Preparation experience.
• Minimum 30+ federal and state individual 1040 tax returns prepared.
• Active PTIN required.
• Knowledge of federal individual income tax returns.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Must be available to work during peak (April 10-15).

Responsibilities

• Provide Customer Tax Support: assist customers with tax preparation and filing via phone, video, and chat.
• Maintain Quality and Productivity: meet quality benchmarks for tNPS, SQS, productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Review Tax Returns: review returns for accuracy and identify tax-saving opportunities.
• Deliver Product Expertise: guide customers on TurboTax features and resolve issues.
• Educate and Support Customers: explain tax concepts and outcomes clearly and professionally.
• Document Customer Interactions: record interactions and resolutions in required systems.
• Ensure Compliance and Professional Readiness: protect confidentiality and complete required trainings.
• Support Peak Season Operations: maintain schedule adherence and flexibility during peak tax season.
