Job summary

Nutanix is seeking a Manager, Systems Engineering to lead the Enterprise Pre-Sales Systems Engineers in the North region. This working manager role involves running PoCs, mentoring staff, and acting as an SE resource for regional sales leadership.

You will report to the Director of Systems Engineering in the West and remote work is supported, with travel as needed to customer sites and regional offices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Sr./Pre-Sales Systems Engineer.
• 3+ years of pre-sales management experience.
• Deep knowledge of the virtualization and storage markets.
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
• Humble leader with a bias for action.
• Operate with a 'whatever it takes' attitude to close deals.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Support field SE team in complex evaluations, troubleshooting, and challenging customer environments.
• Recruit and hire new Systems Engineers into the territory, and mentor/train them.
• Provide escalation point for pre-sales and post-sales issues in the territory.
• Build and maintain relationships with key customers in the territory.
• Act as a floating SE and cover vacations or conflicts.
• Ensure ongoing channel enablement.
• Foster channel partner relationships with their technical teams.
• Manage Systems Engineers in the territory (expenses, check-ins, escalations).
• Travel ~30% within the region.
