Job summary

OpenTeams is seeking a Systems Engineer to join a fully remote, US-based platform support team. You will own internal platforms and assist with customer-focused project support, including identity, cloud infrastructure, and Kubernetes deployments.

Ideal candidates are 1–3 years in IT/support or infra, comfortable with Linux, networking basics, Python or Bash scripting, and Git workflows. OpenTeams emphasizes collaboration and asynchronous communications.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of IT/support, systems or infra experience.
• Proficiency with Linux and command line.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Scripting in Python and/or Bash for automation.
• Familiarity with Git and PR workflows.
• Hands-on exposure to AWS/Azure/GCP and containers.
• Experience administering SaaS tools (Google Workspace, Slack).
• Strong written communication and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Own the internal queue: triage, resolve, escalate when needed.
• Administer Google Workspace and identity systems, onboarding/offboarding runbooks.
• Support provisioning and maintenance of cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent).
• Deploy and operate internal apps on Kubernetes using Helm and ArgoCD.
• Maintain internal OpenTeams website (Astro site, EmDash) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build monitoring/alerting and reduce alert noise.
• Enforce security hygiene: MFA, access reviews, endpoint config.
