Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Air Force National Capital Region IT Services program at Joint Base Andrews, MD, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC, and the Pentagon. The role covers engineering, integration, sustainment, and continual improvement of enterprise IT services across AFNCR.

You will collaborate with government customers, program leadership, technical teams, and service providers to translate mission requirements into supportable system and service solutions,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or Master’s with 10+ years.
• Active DoD Secret clearance at time of hire is required.
• IAT Level II compliance (e.g., Sec+ CE) or equivalent.
• Experience supporting enterprise IT, communications, or mission systems in national security contexts.

Responsibilities

• Provide advisory and staff support to government service owners and 844 CG/AFDWGSOs.
• Draft and maintain guidance, SOPs, and staffing coordination.
• Deliver end-to-end IT governance and requirements validation across AFNCR and mission partners.
• Coordinate executive briefings, meeting minutes, and action-item tracking.
• Lead cross-functional stakeholder coordination and design service solutions.
• Translate requirements into architectures, cost estimates, and sustainment plans.
• Perform risk analyses and evaluate feasible, secure IT options.
• Develop and maintain engineering artifacts and verification criteria.
• Collaborate with partner squadrons and contract leads to refine requirements.
• Brief leadership on equities and secure local concurrence.
• Prepare decision-support products and status reports for governance boards.
• Coordinate service catalog changes and service-request processes.
• Assess service offerings against mission needs and identify improvement opportunities.
• Monitor service performance metrics and drive continual improvement actions.
