Job summary

Merck is seeking a Territory Manager to drive Animal Health sales in a multi-state geography, including AR, TX, OK, KS, CO, UT and MO. You will lead customer discussions, develop territory plans, and collaborate with partners to grow accounts while traveling up to 75% and supporting remote work arrangements.

You will analyze market trends, tailor solutions to customer needs, and leverage learning resources to expand the product portfolio across our Animal Health line.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 12 years of Animal Health sales experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of Animal Health sales experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Motivated and focused on achieving measurable, tangible results with data resources to resolve customer issues.
• Willingness to travel and operate independently within a territory.
• Ability to develop and manage a diverse mix of accounts and territory plans.
• Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to use an iPad.

Responsibilities

• Communicates about product in a way that's meaningful and relevant to each customer; customizes discussions based on customer needs.
• Primary contact for assigned customers; meets with decision makers to understand practice structure and needs, identifying business opportunities.
• Develop territory and account plans; collaborate with National Account Managers and Distribution Partners to drive sales growth.
• Work across species teams to enhance knowledge of the product portfolio across the organization.
• Analyze sales results monthly and manage expenses within budget guidelines.
• Identify programs and resources to address customer needs and provide education and training opportunities.
